Frequently asked questions
By SMS to the phone number linked to the student, sent the moment the gate reads the child. There is no app to install and it works on any handset. Parents who want more can also sign in to the parent portal for the full history.
Yes. Terminals support fingerprint as well as face recognition, and schools can mix the two — younger classes on fingerprint, older students on face, for example. RFID cards are available as an optional third method.
Yes. Face-only is the most common setup because nothing needs to be carried, issued or replaced. Enrolment takes a few seconds per student and happens once.
They already share a database. A student enrolled in Skooltym Access is the same student record Skooltym Pay bills, keyed on the same Student Number — so there is no second import, no reconciliation and no duplicate child.
